The rowing team won 9 medals in the Gulf Championship

The Saudi rowing team won 9 medals in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) indoor rowing championship, which was held in Kuwait.

The Green Rowing Mission witnessed the presence of Ms. Sherine Abul-Hassan, Vice-Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors.

Rakan Alireza won the gold medal in the men’s 2000 meters general category and Kariman Abuljadayel won the women’s 2000 meters general category.

While Salma Momina and Omar Al-Sayed won the junior gold in the 2000-meter category, Haya Al-Mami and Iman Rafeeq won the silver medal in the women’s 1000m doubles, and Hassan Qadri and Majid Nazereh won the men’s 1000m doubles silver.

As for the quartet team, Rakan Alireza, Hassan Qadri, Turki Al Aref and Abdullah Al Hai won the silver medal.

Salma Momena also snatched a silver in the women’s light weight 2000 metres, and Sultan Al Shali the bronze in the light weight in the same category.

The technical staff, consisting of Britain’s William Lewis Barry and Egyptian Kamal Hassan, had supervised the team’s camp in Kuwait, which started on March 17th.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ali Hussein Ali Reda, congratulated the team’s players for their achievements, wishing them continued success and winning more medals and titles during the coming period.
