In future, the signature and seal of any gazetted officer is not required to change the home address on the Aadhar card. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIAI) has made a major change in giving this right to the head of the family. Apart from this, UIAI has made changes in the process of changing the name of the woman after divorce and proof of the name of the adopted children.
As per the new address change rule, the head of the family has to fill a self-declaration form stating that the person concerned is a member of his/her family. Afterwards, he/she has to accompany the applicant to the Aadhar center. Similarly, when a person lives in a rented house, the power to change the address on the Aadhar card is given to the owner of the house. For adopted children, the records mentioned in the adoption letter Based on this, the details can be added to the Aadhar card.
Divorced women can also change their name back to their original name without the husband’s name by providing divorce documents. The right to change the date of birth is also given to the head of the family. According to the superintendent of Mangaluru postal area, UIAI has brought new changes regarding the Aadhar card. However, it has not been updated in the Aadhaar software yet. It is likely to be uploaded in August.
