Covid-19 cases in country cross 66 million

New Delhi. Covid-19 cases in India crossed 66 million on Monday. At the same time, after 55,86,73 people became infection free, the recovery rate of patients in the country was 84.34 percent.

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am, the total number of infected people increased to 66,23,815 after 74,442 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in a single day in the country. At the same time, after the death of 903 more people in the last 24 hours, the death toll rose to 1,02,685. According to the data, Kovid-19 is currently being treated by 9,34,427 patients in the country, which is 14.11 percent of the total cases. The death rate from Kovid-19 is 1.55 percent.

In India, Kovid-19 cases had crossed 20 lakh on 7 August, 3 million on 23 August, 4 million on 5 September, 50 lakh on 16 September and 6 million on 28 September. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 7,99,82,394 samples were tested till October 4 in the country, of which 9,89,86,000 samples were tested on Sunday.

According to statistics, out of the total of 9,03 people who died in the last 24 hours, 326 were from Maharashtra. There were 67 people from Karnataka, 66 from Tamil Nadu, 62 from West Bengal, 52 from Uttar Pradesh, 41 from Punjab, 40 from Andhra Pradesh, 38 from Delhi and 35 from Madhya Pradesh. According to the figures of the Ministry, a total of 1,02,685 people have died due to the virus in the country so far. The highest number of 38,084 people died in Maharashtra. After this, 9,784 in Tamil Nadu, 9,286 in Karnataka, 6,292 in Uttar Pradesh, 5,981 in Andhra Pradesh, 5,5110 in Delhi, 5,194 in West Bengal, 3,680 in Punjab and 3,496 in Gujarat have died.

The Health Ministry said that more than 70 percent of the patients who died of infection were also suffering from other diseases.
