An Indian athlete sets a new Guinness record by doing 109 push-ups in one minute

Young Thonaugam Nirangwe Singh from the Indian state of Manipur entered the Guinness Book of Records after performing a one-minute finger press.

The 24-year-old completed 109 fingertip pushups in one minute and set a new Guinness World Record.

In a video posted by India’s Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Riejo on Twitter, Singh can be seen doing push-ups at “lightning speed”.

When the stopwatch struck a minute, Singh received thunderous applause and cheers.

The video has been viewed more than 143,000 and retweeted more than 1,500 times.

The pioneers of social networking sites showered the young man with praise and positive comments, some of them said that Manipur has a wonderful sports culture and is filled with talented young athletes.
